I couldn't help feeling a bit of sadness after seeing the current state of the Notre Dame de Lourdes here in Lifou . It does looks almost like a derelict and has seen better days - Built and established by french catholic missionaries in the mid 1870s, it can only be reached via 15 minute walk from Easo Pier and a steep climb to the hill where it stands ... The 'climb' is all worth it as you will be rewarded with the wonderful view of Jinek Bay, the South Pacific and beyond ... We also came here to reflect and pray ... I felt that there is a strong need to 'see' ... We were here on the 19th May 2023.
